Also, let me summarise the evolution of fashion trends.
70's- boot cut pants, polka dots tops, extended collars, cooties (cropped top), platform shoes. gargantua shades which covers 1/2 of our faces, big studs,afro hair for the guys and soft curls for the girls.
late 80's-90's- yankee pants (also known as tappered pants), excessive sponges placed on the shoulders for the ladies,tight-fitting t-shirts for the guys, big puffy hair 4 e ladies.
ps: correct me if its not true as im not ard during some of the eras.
late 90,s-millenium- straight cut jeans,cardigans for the girls, rebonding of hair, those gigantic silver earrings, bandana, drop-waist trousers.
Now, cropped top,perming of hair or vice-versa, capris, big shades, in other words they are emulating trends from the grease days. And the fashion now are more wide and versatile, each person can look very urban or preppy or even traditional. they would wear kimonos, nyonya kebaya with a tinge of the millenium, eg(with jeans). oyah, nowadays, they even start wearing jades.
Last but not least, ur style reflects your personality and characteristics, so be yourself and wear capably.
